“Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.” – Louis L’Armour
Writing is something which comes from within. It has the power to unveil the deepest feelings buried deep within you, which in every way get ignored in this daily hustle-and-bustle of life. At some point, we all need to just let out everything when we are too pressurized, but what if there’s no one to listen to us? Well, the best solution to this is- writing all of that. It is the most effective way to rejuvenate ourselves in the middle of our stressful lives.
But once you start writing, you should know how to write effectively because being a good writer is essential, as it will help you thrive in both your professional as well as private life. The best way to enhance your writing skills is by reading. Reading helps you to understand the proper usage of phrases and words which gives a head start to your writing schedule. It not only boosts your writing skills but also keeps you absorbed in what you read, which thus introduces you to a completely new world and that in turn will revive your creativity, which is an integral part of being a good writer and soon you might be able to produce your original content! But yes, you should write every day because ‘practice makes a man perfect’ and this should be your mantra if you wish to be a good writer. Try to draw inspiration from other great works of literature which will fuel your vehemence about writing because people tend to leave their habit of writing after continuing for a short period of time and the only reason for this is dearth of muse and commitment. If you start to visualize yourself as a good writer and improve your writing skills day-by-day with utmost belief in yourself, I’m sure nobody can stop you from writing everyday which will ultimately lead you to your destination- a good writer!
Many writers tend to fail in the end. They fail to produce good content and there are a few reasons for that but the main reason is they do not feel confident about their work, despite having very good writing abilities. They always have a thought in the back of their minds that whether they will succeed or not and this is what leads them to failure- lack of confidence belief in oneself. Yes, we are human beings it is very natural for us to feel anxious, but if one gives up due to the fear of failing one day, then it will be very difficult for them to excel in their profession as a writer. The second thing is many people think that for being a ‘great writer’ one needs to be ‘born with the skills’, if you are by any chance one of them then you must know this that practice and sheer hard work overshadows talent. Perseverance in one’s work matters the most regardless of how the person was born and brought up.
Another reason for a writer’s failure is the lack of support. They get very little or rather negligible support from their friends and family which ultimately leads them to a point where they no longer have the faith in themselves and they tend to forget that one day they may succeed.
The absence of zeal and enthusiasm is also a major reason for the writers to give up writing because in the end they might feel that writing has also added to their hectic schedule which may lead them to the dead end- to leave the habit of writing. If they start to feel that writing is not relaxing and rather it is painstaking, they will no longer have that same urge to start writing again.
Introverts are very shy people and they find it very difficult to communicate their thoughts and feelings. They often feel very depressed because no one can understand them as they do not open up to others so easily. Writing is the key to their solution. It helps them express themselves in a much better way and it can aid them in ways no one else can.
Many people prefer spending time on the social media rather than writing. If you think this way as well then let me ask you something, does your presence in the social media help you know yourself better? Does it help you to know how your inner self feels? Or to pen down your own feelings and thoughts on a paper helps you connect with your inner self better? Once you find the answer to this I’m sure you will understand why people write. Giving time to your inner self helps you grow better and makes you feel more energized, as it helps you connect with your inner self, who is your friend for a lifetime.
You should start writing no matter what. After you start writing, you yourself will start realizing the difference it makes. We all are so busy in your daily lives caring for others, working and doing the daily chores that we forget to spend quality time with ourselves. Our wishes, our dreams, our hopes, our own space, they get caught up somewhere between our workplace and private lives. We all are so absorbed in this busy world which drives out that little bit of goofiness and happiness from our lives that we can no longer find ourselves in ‘ourselves’. But once we start writing, we can revive that dead inner self from within us which will help us know ourselves better. But before that, start writing! Even if you do not feel confident about it just give it a shot. Scratch, scribble, let it be messy but still do not give up writing. Sooner or later, you will feel the change not only on the inside, but also on the outside and then when it is time, see the mysteries unfold in front of you as you unleash the magic of writing.
