I want to put out that If there’s a product , he should know basic questions. For example, who will buy this product?
How to define this target audience. Let’s understand this first. Let’s say. I want to buy this watch and it costs 80 dollars. Let’s say. Now not everyone can buy this watch right?
Only a specific person will buy this. male or female? This watch is for men. Only they’ll buy it. Who’ll buy it? Those can afford it.
This indicates that their purchasing power needs to be more.
So according to that You need to identify your target audience. Will that person be from a specific place?
So, a defined target audience is makes your life easier in marketing. Those who run ads on YouTube or Facebook, know this .There’s an option for targeting. With practical and strong marketing concepts you can easily target !
That’s it. This is the basic principle of marketing.
Sales Basics –
This means He/she should know what’s a sales pitch. How to sell a product. Means whenever you want to run an ad Or anything , You need to figure out what is your digital marketing objective. If your objective is to Sell the product, you must make your efforts towards it
If you are unable to sell a product then you are not a good Digital Marketer. Until you can sell products, you are good in digital marketing.
So, to sell a product You need to learn Selling techniques. If you are into increasing blogging traffic for ad income, you need to get into Copywriting.
When you are a blog, Then how you should write them in a way client gets compelled to read and revisit or purchase your product.
When someone is doing video marketing, then think about how can you deliver the message via video.
For example if you are doing Banner ads then what can we write on banner ads.
We need to write something in a way that our customer feels the desire to buy it.
Design sense Or I can say UI –
He/she should know the basic knowledge of UI. For example, if you come across a very sub-standard picture on Facebook as an ad campaign.
Will you click?
Copywriting is good but sometimes the design sense associated is horrible. Means his/her targeting is good and the sales pitch is good too, but that photo is not appealing. Or the text size is very short. These are some of the blunders in UI/UX.
So, if you have a basic knowledge of design, then you can easily Digital marketing campaigns. Whether it’s an ad campaign or website.
The worst thing that occurs to marketeers is that their ads are not appealing and your visitor has a poor first impression. Could be possible that your design taste is not as great as somebody who is more creative than you.

Idea of Profitability –
Calculation of profitability is logic. Let’s say there’s a product. whose manufacturing cost is 80 Dollars. Now we have a manufacturing cost = 80 Dollars and I sell it at 100 Dollars in the market. Now a simple calculation. My profit is 20 Dollars
Further, the profit margin also needs to be pumped into marketing.
If my marketing cost is more than 20 Dollars. That I need to sell it at loss. So, if I properly analyze profitability I’ll never be at a loss.
But they have no idea how much should be spent?
Thinking about the Benefit and costs are must have skills for digital marketeers!
When you know the profitability, you can calculate that I cannot spend more than this.
Talking about Google AdWords. There’s an option for acquisition right?
Cost per acquisition If Cost per acquisition Is less than my profit, then it’s a profitable deal If the cost per acquisition is more than my profit, then it’s a loss.
That’s it.
Means I should not work on that.
Tools –
Now Basic tools which people brag that they know Google AdWords. But it goes beyond.
I know the AHREF tool , photoshop as well as premier pro.
You can even hire a person for tool expertise. But If I am an expert , I should know some tools like AHREF.
If I am an expert in social media, then I should know tools regarding social media.
Designing skills are a must. Content writing rules social media. Video editing is a must too.
If you don’t know, then at least Be aware of editing basics like lighting. Need to know the basics because if I hire an editor, my cost would shoot up.
Analytical skills and Creative skills –
These need to come together for successful delivery. Many online tools generate reports for marketers. You need to have a knack for them to get into the depth of advertisement performance, costs, etc. Now we need to analyze this data and filter the feasible ones.
Earlier what we talked about marketing basics.
Let’s say I don’t’ know my client’s audience and our client doesn’t know his target audience.
What will we do?
We test it first. In this, we’ll try various things on our target audience. After exploring the analytical report, then based on that data I’ll be able to conduct a result-oriented work.
I can figure out that this data is good, and we should target this audience. Now Creative Skill means, Let’s say Google AdWords vlog.
If you are a person who wishes to make a google AdWords series, so, what can he do differently to beat other video?
This is creativity.
This means there are many ways to do a single work. Finding these ways is your personal skill.
Creativity is not painting.
What design Creativity is in many ways similar to art. If you are running a campaign in digital marketing. Then you can make 10 different campaigns for one service or product. This is creativity if you differentiate each with different graphic elements.
If I say I want to sell shoes 80 Dollars’ worth, and I want to create a sales campaign before the new year. I would plan out from December and make different social media banners. Each banner is differentiated with a different idea. For example, one releasing on Christmas will have an early bird offer with Santa graphics.
The one releasing on 31st December will have a new year greeting.
People are different , some may be great in designing and other in data analyzing. You need to find out your expertise. What’s not your expertise, you either develop it by learning or delegate.
