The level of disruption that the global supply chain is facing due to COVID – 19, has never been seen before. Industry 4.0 was of great heed to many manufacturers before the crisis. It was considered as a stirring area with an enormous potential boon, an optimistic and progressive field. Currently, it is unbefitting to discuss Industry 4.0 in the way it was discussed before the pandemic, as the manufacturers now are focussing on survival and damage limitation. Industry 4.0 has currently taken a halt due to the economic setback , but will definitely progress rapidly and create a breakthrough globally in the post crisis period.
